Giant Subwoofer Video
This was a demonstration built by graduate students at the University of Wisconsin -Madison in 2011. It's purpose was to be physically large so elementary school kids could look inside while it was running and illustrate the how a speaker works on a grand scale (hence a transparent cone). Although powerful, it was not designed to be competitive with state of the art sub woofer systems or be high audio quality. This is a giant speaker constructed for the UW -Madison Engineering Expo in 2011. It was built by a team of PhD students in electrical and mechanical engineering as a fun side project on a limited budget. The cone is made of polycarbonate and is 6 feet in diameter. Thomson Coil

This is a Thomson Coil I made as a demonstration. It consists of approximately 400 turns of 12awg solid wire which temporarily draws 15 amps from a 120vac outlet. The core can be adjusted to slide in and out of the windings to adjust the current and direct the flux through the ring of choice. The core consists of a pvc pipe case, filled with laminated steel welding rods.

It needs to be more stable like sturdy .. if it had supports radiating out from center and between like a spiderweb configuration then put another thin cone atop that it would look same use carbon fiber plastic or aluminum possibly this would create deeper bass and allow you to use the 8000 watts now it’ll start shaking and rattling before it peaks maybe even use three voice coils in lue of the one large one or two at least one inside the other I’m no musician but the blueprints I’ve scrounged up will work in theory maybe one day we will find out my goal is to invent a new speaker that isn’t a traditional voice coil so far it’s escaping me but if I have it my way I will find the solution very soon

I know this is an old video but you could achieve much lower frequency response and have accuracy with a rotary subwoofer as a well built decently sized one can do down to 1hz
